FARMWISE Kick-off in Lund, Sweden

Lund, Sweden – 10, 11 January 2024

The FARMWISE project, a collaborative initiative aimed at transforming the European agricultural sector, has successfully kicked off in Sweden, with a two-day meeting hosted by Lund University. The project involves 18 beneficiaries and 2 associated partners from 13  countries. This multi-disciplinary project, funded by the EU research and innovation program Horizon Europe (GAP-101135533), brings together experts in water management, agriculture, climate, sensors, earth observation, data and AI, aiming to develop sustainable solutions to address sustainable water management and climate change challenges.

Each of the 20 partners, had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the consortium. Insights into monitoring and managing water quality, soil health, and nutrient  enrichment management were discussed comprehensively. 11 innovations were showcased by project partners, with the potential promising to revolutionise sustainable agriculture. Attendees explored sustainable water management indicators, advanced soil sensors, and AI-assisted radar rainfall extensions.

The KOM also included presentations on IPR, Numerical Modelling, Systems Thinking, Data Integration, and Communications and highlighted the project’s commitment to comprehensive and effective strategies.
